It all started on a whim. Alisa's mother had a nice QH mare who seemed to be throwing excessive white on her QH foals. Just for a change, she decided to breed her to a paint stud. "Cassy" foaled a year later and presented us with a loud overo colt. Since that day, you can say the Bernhards were "hooked" on Paints!
Alisa began showing on the Paint Circuit in l999 starting with the lounge line futurity class, progressing to the 2 yr old pleasure classes the next year, and then adding more events every year. Her ten years of showing heavily on the AQHA circuit in many different events was good preparation for the all-around events at the Paint Circuits.
Some of our accomplishments in the American Paint Horse Association since l999, on horses that Alisa has trained and shown:
* Earned over 9000 APHA Points
* 21 APHA World Championships in 7 events: horsemanship, hunt seat equitation, trail, western riding, working hunter, equitation over fences, hunter hack
* 27 Superior Ratings in 9 events: all the above events, plus pleasure & showmanship
* 5-Time World Champion in Hunt Seat Equitation - 2004-2008

Seldom has a rider/trainer been so successful, in so many separate events, and done it mostly on her own.
As you can see by her long list of accomplishments, she is well prepared to train both you and your horse in a wide variety of events. You could say she "specializes" in 9 events! She believes in kind, consistent, patient work with her horses, and she has a great talent for bringing out the best in each horse. A prime example would be Fleetstreet Max. If he would have been pushed, or rushed into learning different events, he would never have been a successful show horse.
